We offer 2 main permanent fitting methods. Braidless wefts and Keratin bonded hair extensions. There are many different hair extension methods on the market and we are trained in most. However, we only choose to work with methods that will not compromise the quality of your natural hair and are easy to maintain and these 2 methods are our absolute favourites. Which method each client has fit is dependent on 4 key areas; the natural hair, the desired look, lifestyle and budget. All of which is decided upon within a consultation at the salon. All our clients have their hair colour matched to perfection and tailored to suit their exact requirements. After fitting the hair is also cut, blended and styled to create your desired look, this is included within our prices.
So what does Remy Hair actually mean?
Remy (or Remi) Hair is considered to be the finest quality of human hair because the cuticles are kept intact and not stripped, like in most other non-remy hair extensions. Preserving the hairs cuticles and aligning them in a unidirectional fashion creates extensions that are completely natural in appearance with zero matting or bunching. This process ensures that the hair remains super soft, shiny, silky and completely tangle-free throughout its lifetime. Many main stream suppliers will promote that their hair is remy hair, but unfortunately in most cases this is not true and is the reason why many hair extension wearers experience issues with their hair and its quality.
Braidless Sewn in Weave
Braidless Sewn in Weaves are the most favoured choice of hair extension available at LA Hairvolution, especially for those looking for plenty of volume and length. Our Weaves are applied using wefts of hair which is then sewn onto a track made from using highly safe and none-damaging, silicone lined micro rings. Depending on the amount of hair required, you can expect to wear between 1-3 tracks. Braidless sewn in weaves differ from the common corn-row weaves as they do not require any plaiting of the natural hair which can tend to feel very tight and can also feel and appear bulky and the wearer does not lose added volume in having the natural hair plaited. This method of extension can be re-fit really easily between every 4-8 weeks, ensuring your natural hair remains well cared for and that your extensions remain secure and looking in optimum condition. This technique is fantastic for clients of all hair types requiring extra length or added thickness, it is also a great choice for clients with shorter and thick hair. Application time is also a lot less than the other fitting techniques and is typically 1-2 hours. You can expect up to 12 months wear of this method with the correct maintenance and aftercare.
Keratin Fusion Bond Extensions
Fusion bonding is the most widely used and long-lasting method that won’t damage your natural hair contrary to much belief! The bonding resin that is used is Keratin based, which is a natural protein that won’t break the hair shaft. It is not glue. It is very gentle to your hair and easily removable unlike lots of other types of adhesives which tend to be silicon-based. This method will give you tiny bonds and offers maximum volume from most other stranded methods and lots of natural movement. Keratin bonds are a perfect method for clients who like to tie their hair back with ease. You can expect to wear between 50-200 bonds dependant on the thickness of the natural hair and preferred look. Depending on your natural hair re-growth and with care, these extensions can last between 3-6 months without the need to be re-positioned, so are fantastic for long term hair extension wearers or people who want an extension that requires much less maintenance. They can then be removed, re-tipped and re-fit. As with all extension methods it is absolutely crucial that these extensions are removed by a professional. Damage to natural hair from these extensions will only occur if the client tries to remove them at home by themselves.
